Introducing... | Coloristiq | the nail polish rental service!

thrift o'clock
Hello everyone!

I hold my hands up, I'm kind of a nail polish junkie.
My collection houses a scary amount of bottles whether it be glitter, shimmer, neon, pastel.. you name it and it's probably in there.

As you can probably imagine, the idea of a nail polish rental service made my eyes light up. I have a whole shelf in my bedroom dedicated to all things nails (not sure if that's a good thing to admit but y'know) and there are quite a few polishes that get ignored so the idea of 'renting' polishes suits me. Try out new polishes every month while keeping clutter to a minimum? I'm in.

A brilliant idea, but I still had a few questions. How would customers ensure they don't get a gloopy, run out, passed on mess of a bottle? I started talking things through with Kayleigh of Coloristiq (who's lovely by the way) and she explained that their team cleaned and made sure bottles were in tip top condition before sending them out again. Much like the nail salon when you think about it!

So let's talk details.

For £14.49 per month, you can borrow three bottles of nail polish and once 30 days are up, you send them back in the box they came in, of which postage is already paid for.

I was lucky enough to be selected as an ambassador for Coloristiq and sent over a box to review!

What I got . . .

OPI You Don't Know Jacques!:
A chocolately taupe with a definite purple hue.
I didn't actually own any brown polishes before this so it was definitely welcome! I think brown shades are lovely for the Autumn and the purple in this saves it from being muddy. A very classy polish indeed!

OPI I Have A Herring Problem:
A light blue-grey with fine shimmer running throughout.
This one is definitely my favourite of the three. I'm wearing it now and I think it'll be great for the Winter once Christmas has been and gone! I have to say, I think the OPI formula is brilliant - both became opaque in two thin coats and are fantastically resistant against chipping.

Essie Cashmere Bathrobe:
A dark blue, almost black with very subtle silver shimmer.
Doesn't that name just scream out luxury? It's a truly gorgeous shade but something about the Essie formula just didn't wow me. It's quite runny so you have to be really careful how you apply it. Despite that, you can work with it and I just know this is gonna make the ideal shade for galaxy nails.

It was like Christmas came early when I opened my box and saw these!
Despite having a large polish collection, I've never actually tried any Essie or OPI before (apart from Nail Envy) because they're a little bit pricey for me. Taking into consideration that polishes from both these brands cost over £10 each, to get three polishes for just about £5 each is an amazing deal.

Bottom line?
If you want quality products at reasonable prices and don't have a lot of space to store your polishes, or if you simply just love nail polish then I think you should give Coloristiq a try!

Oh, and wanna know the good news? I have a code for you so that your first Coloristiq box will be free! Once you've signed up, just email info@coloristiq.com with the code 'Thrift1', say I sent you and enjoy your first month of free polishes!

No, I wouldn't.
This item was sent to me for reviewing purposes and I was allowed to keep the polishes, but all opinions are honest and my own.
